Why can’t I book Kingsland Locke after the 27th of January?
Why is this happening?
The owner of the building which houses Kingsland Locke has decided to repurpose the property and change hotel provider from Locke to Staycity. This transfer of hotel operations will happen on the 27th of January 2025, and we are working with all potentially affected guests to ensure that you are able to adapt bookings accordingly.
Is the hotel closing?
No. The property will continue to operate as a hotel, as part of Staycity.

If my booking is during the transfer period, what happens?
If you are happy to continue staying at the hotel with Staycity, the new provider, after the 27th of January 2025, then the remainder of your booking will be honoured and you don't need to do anything. For invoicing and receipt purposes, please note that your reservation will appear as two separate bookings, one with Locke until the 27 of January 2025 and one with Staycity for the period after the 27th of January 2025.
Can you just transfer my booking to Staycity for me?
If we do not hear from you by the 17th of January 2025, we will assume that you wish to keep your booking(s) at the Kingsland property and we will transfer your booking across to Staycity, the new operator. Please note that this will result in a change to the terms and conditions of your booking. You can find more details about Staycity’s terms and conditions by contacting the company at [email protected]. If your booking is transferred, Staycity will also reach out with further details following the transfer of operations on the [27th of January 2025].
If I move my booking to Staycity, will the hotel remain the same or will there be a change in the amenities or rooms available?
There are no plans to refurbish the property so the general amenities will remain the same. There will however be a new restaurant at the property, which Staycity will be announcing in due course.
If I have to cancel my booking with you in order to do this, can you guarantee that I will get a full refund?
Yes, we will issue a full refund to anyone who holds a booking at Kingsland Locke after 27th January regardless of whether they have booked on a non-refundable or fully flexible rate.
Will there be any upgrades or compensation if I transfer to one of your other hotels, given how inconvenient this is?
If you wish to transfer, we will seek to provide an identical room to your existing booking, where possible. Where there is a difference in the rate for the new booking guests may be required to pay the difference.
Can I choose which other Locke hotel I go to?
You will be able to choose which other Locke hotel you move to, subject to availability.
If I transfer my booking to another of your hotels, can I expect the same amenities?
All Locke hotels are designed to a consistent standard, so you can expect the same amenities within the hotel itself. The only major variation will be the food and beverage provider, since we have different restaurants and cafes across our estate, operated by a variety of local businesses.
I have a large group booking. If I choose to transfer my booking to one of your other hotels, will you split my group up?
We will do our utmost to ensure that your group is transferred to the same hotel.
