We explore the best places to go this festive season to enjoy Edinburgh’s historic architecture, cobbled streets and speciality coffee shops.

Edinburgh is one of the best places to visit during the winter and is full of history, architecture, and culture. Whether you want to cosy up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate. Or, venture out to explore the some of the city’s best kept secrets – you really can do it all.

From speciality coffee to pub grub and quaint interiors – we note a few of our favourite things to do and places to go over the festive season:

The Milkman: Hot drinks & festive treats.

Take a stroll to Edinburgh’s Old Town and find The Milkman, known as one of the best coffee shops in the area. A cosy spot with delicious cakes - be sure to go at less popular times as there is very limited seating.

Christmas Market: Festive fun for all the family.

Edinburgh’s festive market is back for 2022 and it is starting a little earlier this year on 20th November. Details are still to be confirmed – but it’s not one to miss…

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay: A three-day celebration.

If you are a local or are visiting in late December, make sure to join the Hogmanay for a street party, disco, and an incredible concert in the gardens.
