Dublin's coast offers an easy escape into nature. From Howth's charming village and cliff walks with panoramic sea views to North Bull Island, with its serene beaches and rich wildlife. Dublin's coastline is dotted with picturesque trails easily accessed by public transport from the city centre. 

Howth. 

How to get there from Dublin City centre: Connolly Train Station > Howth station  

Wander around Howth’s picturesque harbour, spotting seals, and strolling along the docks before heading to the pier to see the lighthouse. Howth also boasts a castle and a popular clifftop trail that attracts many visitors. Along the harbourthere’s plenty of restaurants, make sure to try a classic fish and chips. If you’re looking for something lighter try Bodega for a coffee and cake.

How to get there from Dublin City centre: Connolly Bus Stop > Bull Island Bus Stop  

North Bull Island is another of Dublin’s coastal highlights.  Featuring a sandy 5km-long beach perfect for taking a stroll, dog walking, and bird watching. As Ireland’s first bird sanctuary established in 1931 and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1981, the island is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Walking through the sand dunes to reach the beach adds to the adventure. It's also an ideal spot to watch the sunset. 

Bray. 

How to get there from Dublin city centre: Take the DART (from multiple stations) to Bray.

Bray, is a seaside town south of Dublin with a number of popular walks and trails. The Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk, provides sea views along its 7km route. Another favourite is the Bray Head Walk, where you’ll find panoramic vistas of the coastline and countryside and its peakIf walking isn't your thing enjoy the cafes and shops and the towns promenade.
