Newly opened at Locke a Platz, Choupette is a modern take on traditional brasserie cuisine using a mix of Nordic and Japanese cooking techniques to create unique twists on classic French food.

Our latest Locke, and our first location in Zurich is now open complete with a brand-new gastronomic experience. Choupette is a modern take on a traditional French brasserie, lending to their slogan of ‘presque un brasserie’. They aim to create unique twists on classic dishes using locally sourced and selected produce in a cosy yet elegant atmosphere.

Enjoy lunch and dinner, then a signature cocktail at Choupette’s chic evening bar, located in Locke am Platz’s distinctive lounge.

A modern twist.

Mixing Nordic open-fire style cooking with Japanese fermenting techniques to create twists on classic French food, chef Jaco Redelinghuys has created a menu full of surprises. Having worked as head chef at some of Cape Town’s most revered restaurants Redelinghuys founded his own restaurant ‘Yoco Eatery’ in his native South Africa and has worked at leading restaurants such as Michelin star, Maison Manesse.

Choupette has been shaped around the farm-to-table concept, working closely with local supplies to create a diverse menu full of local, seasonal produce. Creating a refined, skilled but fun dining experience. 

Expect dishes such as ceviche de poisson-roi Flambé, with spring onion dashi vinaigrette, chive oil and mix radish salad, magret de canard with chesnut chutney, herbs, parsnip purée, red chicorino and cassis jus. Finished off with dishes such as millefeuille de vanille served with vanilla ice cream and pear. 

Distinctive design.

Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, decadent materials and textures creating a distinctive balance between hard and soft materials. The central bar sits between the restaurant and lounge. Bespoke furniture pieces designed by Sella Concept line the windows and restaurant space. Terracotta, green and yellow finishes mixed with stainless steel, microcement and high gloss paints create an intimate and dynamic atmosphere.

Private dining.

Looking for somewhere to host your own soiree? Choupette features a private dining area that sits adjacent to the restaurant, perfect for family gatherings, functions or get togethers. Design references include nods to traditional riviera style alongside a classic mural painting spanning the ceiling and a Villa Borsini style rug in the centre of the room.
